I would like to tell myself... (teambuilding reflection)

After a day of teambuilding activities, I came up with a reflection...

When people talk, sometimes we find their words irrelevant. Isn't it that maybe we're just taking their words in that perspective? I started to realize that I should listen to everything anyone will tell me whether the person or the subect matters to me or not....a word, on how it is said, conveys a lot of meaning. Maybe if we just open our minds and listen well, we'll understand a lot of things. I would like to tell myself, "Dominique, listen, understand..."

There are a lot of things which seems impossible, hard, or painful. But I shouldn't give up for myself... If I am part of something, then I should work that part well. Some things, or maybe a lot of things aren't just about myself....many things are more of about other people. I would like to tell myself, "Dominique, life isn't just about yourself...don't be selfish. Do your part, and be good at it!"

An airplane with a broken wing will not fly. Will you allow yourself to be that broken wing? But if you're an unrepair-able broken wing, will you allow yourself to be the reason for the airplane to be unable to fly? Yes, we all want glory. I wanted the glory, I wanted to fly... But can my airplane fly with me, the broken wing? Sometimes you need to sacrifice your own pride and glory, and let the others fly... Weaknesses can be strengthened but never let your weaknesses be the cause of other's disability and failure. I would like to tell myself, "Dominique, learn to sacrifice."

Trust is important in all aspects of life. But it's not enough to "just trust". We are not ignorant, and we shuould not keep ourselves ignorant. Yes there are instructions, but blindfolded we may be, we still need to have a feel of our surroundings, our direction. Doing so doesn't mean you're not trusting the person telling you what to do. But in life, you don't just do what you are told to do. You also need to use your senses and intellect. You need to cooperate, ask for validations, and most of all, you don't just let the intrustor be responsible for you...blindfolded you may be, you still need to think and act reasonably. I would like to tell myself, "Dominique, blindfolded you may be, you are still primarily responsible for yourself."

"Sometimes the destination is the journey itself..."

-success or failure, it's the effort, the experience, and the lessons which matters

And most of all, be the person you want to be without losing the person you are right now. Have fun. Life can get serious, but you can paint it with your bright colors.
